OK, end of problem, I have done it. I purged everything and started over.
This time (!!!) I knew to use the to navigate the EULA on the X-term, so I was able to accept it properly, and everything then worked just fine.
Sorry, I just was not expecting the key to be applicable to a console window. Live and learn!
Thanks very much for sticking with me. --Grahame

Lol. Thats what I said to do with that big, long list of instructions; purge it all and try again. :)

Hello again, Yosh ... another one! Tried to put netflix-desktop on my wife's PC - without installing POL (possible mistake!) because she already has Wine (from CrossTalk). It went OK until I ran netflix-desktop the first time, then it failed because I don't have "file system extensions, xattr" installed. Part of my aging mind remembers something about that, but not enough, and I could not get a search result out of pol.com . Can you comment/suggest.
Thanks a bill. pal --Grahame

netflx-desktop is COMPLETELY apart from PlayOnLinux. It is not our program, and we have nothing to do with its maint.. I have covered how to install it. Try to completely remove ~/.wine-browser and reinstall netflix-desktop. Keep in mind that the first time that you run it, it will CONTINUE THE DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL PROCESS, so do not be doing anything else on your system, as it still has some things to download. If you are having further issues with netflix-desktop, you will have to ask in their forums, as we dont support it. I just covered the install of it. :) Locking this thread Reason: questions have been addressed, but netflix-desktop is not out software, and we cannot support it.
