Help getting Gnomoria running

I've been trying to get Gnomoria installed and running using the manual installation process.  I've tried both x64 and i386 'bottles', with the following additional components:

  • dotnet40
  • dxfullsetup
  • dxdiag
  • d3dx9_40 / d3dx9
  • vcrun2010 / vcrun6
With the x64 bottle, the program does not load while i386 returns errors.

I'm hoping that someone who may have gotten this installed and running may be able to explain how they've done it OR I hope to gather information on how I may resolve this myself.  Is there a way for me to determine exactly which versions of which dependencies are required?

I will post some Debug Logs in the near future.

Thanks for any suggestions/support!

Don't follow these steps if you don't know exactly what you are doing... PlayOnLinux would not be reponsible

I've got it working.

These are the steps *I* took to get it working. These steps will most definitely destroy any of your existing wine bottles if you don't modify to suit your needs.

rm -rf ~/.wine
export WINEARCH=win32
winecfg
winetricks dotnet40 d3dx9_36 mono210 windowscodecs
wine Downloads/Gnomoria_0824_Setup.exe
cd .wine/drive_c/Program\\ Files/Gnomoria/
cp ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v4.0.30319/* .
cd ../../windows/system32/
cabextract ~/.cache/winetricks/windowscodecs/wic_x86_enu.exe
cd ../../Program\\ Files/Gnomoria/
wine Gnomoria.exe

I have gotten this working with the steam version, I installed steam in winetricks and used most of the above method, but ended up just installing windowscodecs through winetricks instead of the cabextract, and using different directories obviously. Is there any way to make it not run slow as hell though?

DJ has always said to not install Mono and Dotnet in the same virtual drive. They conflict with each other.

I wonder why Gnomoria is using WIC codecs for their images? Kinda strange. Is this an old game or indie game?
