Hi I'm an ubuntu and playonlinux noob.
I bought this GOG beautiful game.I downloaded and installed it in my ubuntu 12.04 LTS ( Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz × 4 hp pavilion d6 4 gb ram , graphic unknown) .
I watch the intro movies ( not in a good quality..) and in the end,in the new game/load game/option/exit menu i can't hit any option. And i can't do anything than reboot the pc.
Any suggestions?
I checked other forum and they talk about d3dx9 something that i didn't understand.
And i don't even know how to download and use it.
Thanks to who's going to help me!

Therer are known issues with this game.

The Mac version actually just uses wine wrappers.

Some instructions available here:
http://happyrobotslifefine.blogspot.ie/2012/11/the-witcher-enhanced-edition-through.html

I wrote the blog post up but the detailed instructions are taken from Reddit and linked on the blog post.

I just included the versions I got (as the ones in the original reddit are quite old) that worked for me as some of the later versions didn't but the ones in the blog post work if you follow the instructions.

You can ignore some of it as it assumes your using Steam.  If you don't know even a little bit about WINE on Mac then it might not be a good idea to follow.  I'm not sure as I only have a little bit of knowledge myself.
