Hi,

I originally asked for help via email, so many thanks to Eugene Paris for responding and helping, but unfortunately it didn’t work and I'm still trying to figure out a solution.

I have the latest edition (as far as I am aware) of any software installed:

Ubuntu 12.04

Wine 1.4

Playonlinux 4.0.14

Samsung nc110

My problem is when trying to run Prince of Persia - Original.  I start it running, a terminal appears, dosbox starts and then everything disappears.  I have tried Microsoft Pinball, which works fine on Playonlinux.  This happens when running through Playonlinux or from the desktop shortcut.

I have two terminal screenshots the I cannot attach here, but will sent to anyone who thinks it will help.  I enabled debugging and these screenshots are what come up.

Could anyone offer some advice or does anyone know of a solution? be appreciated if you could pass it on.

Many thanks

Tim

Update PlayOnLinux to 4.1.3 and it will work

Cheers Quentin (sorry for calling you Eugene earlier). I was getting myself muddled by installing from the Ubuntu Software Centre which has an outdated version available. I downloaded and ran the 4.1.3 version and Prince of Persia runs great, thank you.

The problem I have now is that ./playonlinux will no longer run and when I try to install (no matter what way) the 4.0.14 version is always installed.

Many thanks again for the help.

Add our repository, it will always keep your version up to date

Thanks again Quentin. I should have explained earlier that I know too little about the finer points of Ubuntu. I know where to add repositories, but I do not know what to add and cannot find it listed within the website. eg the apt line.

Thanks Tim

Got there in the end! And all works great.

Many thanks again to Quentin and I hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
