Hello.

I wish to know how may I install Diablo 2 from its original 3 CD set (Spanish version).

I was manual searched a bit in forums (12 pages) to see if I find a similar problem before I post mine.

So, I beg your pardon if I possibly duplicate post for an issue with an old game; it's quite difficult to search without a forum search option.

As for the problem itself, PlayOnLinux doesn't recognized the installation disks.

I refresh the program, and try the Diablo II profile (script?) in the list of supported games.
Then I choosed the option "Use CD-ROM"; option that didn't seem to work even by choosing the mount point.

I also did as in the "Solutions to frequent problems" post is suggested and copied the contents of the 3 CD's in 3 different folders.
But that also didn't worked.

Here is a listing of the contents of my 3 CD set (capital letters are as is):

Disc 1 :

Label : INSTALAR

Folders : directx, EXTRAS, SUPPORT

Files : AUTORUN.INF, binkw32.dll, d2data.mpq, d2sfx.mpq, d2speech.mpq, DIABLOII.ICO, DSETUP.DLL, DSETUP16.DLL, DSETUP32.DLL, Install.exe, Leeme.htm, Setup.mpq, SETUP.EXE

Disc 2 :

Label : JUGAR

Folders : (none)

Files : autorun.inf, binkw32.dll, d2char.mpq, d2music.mpq, diabloii.ico, playd2.exe, playd2.mpq, setup.exe

Disc 3 : CINEMATICAS

Folders : (none)

Files : autorun.inf, binkw32.dll, d2video.mpq, diabloii.ico, playd2.exe, playd2.mpq, setup.exe

My system is Debian GNU/Linux Wheezy 7.0 (Testing) x64 up-to-date.

AMD Phenom II X4 905e, GeForce GTS 250, SoundBlaster X-FI Titanium, MSI 790FX-GD70 and a LG DVD HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

For the moment, even for english and french version, the CD-ROM version can have some problem. I advise you to download legally your copy from blizzard website, and use this version. Moreover, you'll have an up to date version.

I will fix the installer when I have bought the cdroms

Hello.

I think I don't understand.

Do you know a way to retrieve a digital download copy from Blizzazrd for owners of a eleven/twelve years old physic one?

Would you mind post that link, please?

Hello again.

I'm very pleased to realise that after that bunch of years I could redeem a digital copy of my game : Thank you very much :-)

So I then re-try to install, but this time using the option of installer file with the downloaded installation files.

But the installation still failed.

Now it's in the Accept License Window.
The text box in that window is empty and instantly poped up a Wine error window that said :

"El programa Installer.exe ha encontrado un serio problema y necesita cerrarse. Nos disculpamos por los inconvenientes.
Esto puede ser causado por un problema en el programa o a una deficiencia en Wine. Quizás quieras verificar en http://appdb.winehq.org consejos sobre cómo ejecutar esta aplicación.
Si este problema no esta presente en Windows y no ha sido reportado todavía, lo puedes reportar en http://bugs.winehq.org"

Sorry for the Spanish bable.
