I finally got Diablo 3 running following the link below, but the framerate isn't working well.  If I run the game in fullscreen mode, it's completely unusably.  It seems like events take 30 seconds to process.  However, if I run the game in windowed mode, I get like 20fps, which is much better, but I'm hoping for a little better.  According to the post, I can run the game in OpenGL by adding an argument, but I don't know where the arguments can be specified in the playonlinux interface.  Is that under one of the specific tabs?

You have to update PlayOnLinux to the latest version

I downloaded the development version and now see the arguments field, where I've added the -opengl flag. However, the gameplay is still incredibly slow. If I run it game in a virtual window, I get about 15 fps, which drops to about 5fps when get into combat. If I don't use a virtual desktop, the game is completely unplayable. The crows at the start screen don't animate and the sound is choppy. I can load the options menu, but every click takes about 10-30 seconds to process. Why would running in windowed mode speed things up? And why is it so slow in windowed mode even with -opengl?

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 in the gnome (no effects) session. I'm using the proprietary nVidia drivers with an 8800 GTS.

Here's my debugging log file when running in Virtual Desktop if it helps: http://pastebin.com/rFnXwAxY

I'll pursue this in another thread.

Just a note. I tried setting the render target to "backbuffer" as I assume it was using "fbo" and I got about 30-35 fps, but now have a graphical artifact, where the ground underneath the character is totally black.
