Hi,

I have been trying to install Diablo III on Linux with this guide: http://www.playonmac.com/en/commentaires-1043.html.

I am installing from the disc, whenever I run the installer I get the error
"Failed to extract required files from an archive.  Please try again.

Please click the link below for more information or contact Customer Support if the problem persists.

Error Code: BLZPTS00008"

I am new to Linux, so everything is a bit foreign to me.

Thanks

As said in the news and everywhere, you need to mount your cdrom with unhide option

Thanks for the reply.

I have read that, I am not sure how exactly to do that.

Sorry

Ok,

I get as far as entering "sudo mkdir /media/Diablo3"

My output for it is

john@ubuntu:~$ sudo mkdir /media/Diablo3
mkdir: cannot create directory `/media/Diablo3': File exists

Alright, the Installer is running so I am assuming all is well.

Thank you for your help.

I was able to install, patch, and watch the intro custcene. I put in my account information and it successfully passes the "Connected to Battle.net Server."

It then got stuck on "Authenticating Credentials."

I tested the login on my laptop and it worked (I would be using it instead of my pc, but my laptop lags on the lowest graphics).

I also made sure the servers were up.

Edit:  I found the other forum topic about this.
