1.5.12 League of Legends

I'm using Peppermint OS 3 on a cheap netbook. Like super cheap. It goes into the game, but it crashes before I can actually play, when the game goes into full screen, it won't actually load, and I can't do anything. Any ideas?

Ok, thanks for the work. i have a fedora 17 64 bit system and it´s working :)

here is what i did:

-install league of legends through playonlinux
-then configure wine and change the wine version to 1.5.18-league of legends
- if you have sound issues: install 32 bit alsa plugin for pulseaudio (yum or packetmanager)
- if minimap is glitchy: install s3tc for 32 bit (yum or packetmanager) - doesn`t solve it for me

hope this helps some fedora users,

cheers

I had the same Issue and get it running with 3 fixes :

Set hostname in /etc/hosts

Look at your /etc/hosts file. It should include your $HOSTNAME. For Example my Hostname is XtrEme and my /etc/hosts file look like this :

127.0.0.1        localhost.localdomain localhost XtrEme

You can get your own hostname with "echo $HOSTNAME"

Set Registryvalues for Direct3D

Set following Registryvalues for the LOL-Prefix :

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Wine\\Direct3D]
"DirectDrawRender"="gdi"
"Multisampling"="disabled"
"OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo"
"RenderTargetLockMode"="disabled"
"UseGLSL"="disabled"
"VideoMemorySize"="1024"

Change the VideoMemorySize to the amount of RAM you really have ;)
You can copy and paste the whole into an filename.reg and import it easily with playonlinux.

Change GameSettings in game.cfg

Backup your game.cfg in $HOME/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/LeagueOfLegends/drive_c/Riot Games/League of Legends/Config, and make a new one with following content :

[General]
SystemMouseSpeed=0
Width=1680
Height=1050
Colors=32
WaitForVerticalSync=0
PredictMovement=0
Windowed=0
EnableLightFx=0
UserSetResolution=1
GameMouseSpeed=0
BorderlessWindow=0
EnableAudio=1

[Performance]
EnableHUDAnimations=0
AutoPerformanceSettings=0
MouseOverEffect=0
CharacterQuality=4
EnvironmentQuality=4
Full3DModeEnabled=0
GammaEnabled=0
EffectsQuality=4
ShadowQuality=0
FrameCapType=2
AdvancedShader=0
EnableParticleOptimizations=0
AdvancedReflection=0
PerPixelPointLighting=0
ShadowsEnabled=1

[HUD]
NumericCooldownFormat=1
ItemShopItemDisplayMode=0
ItemShopStartPane=1
FlipMiniMap=0
EnableLineMissileVis=0
EnableSnowEffect=0
LockCamera=0
SmartCastOnKeyRelease=0
ObjectTooltips=0
ScrollSmoothingEnabled=0

[FloatingText]
Legacy_Enabled=0
Debug_Enabled=1
LegacyCritical_Enabled=1
EnemyCritical_Enabled=1
Critical_Enabled=1
SpellDamage_Enabled=1
Damage2_Enabled=1
Heal2_Enabled=1
Critical2_Enabled=1
Experience2_Enabled=1
QuestReceived_Enabled=1
QuestComplete_Enabled=1
Score_Enabled=1

[Volume]
VoiceVolume=0.0000
MusicVolume=0.0000
AnnouncerVolume=0.4679

Change Width and Height to your needs. With this Settings i dont have anymore crashes and a Framerate between 57 and 60 fps :)

I hope that this will Help some People

So I am playing on a Ubuntu 12.10 with just installing PlayOnLinux and then directly League Of Legends and it works quite well.
The Wine Version is 1.5.24 and my only problem is that when I use the 'Alt+W' or something like that, I cannot use Spells anymore, every time I right-klick its pinging and I can't do anything but walking around and auto-attacking.
I am going to try if it changes anything when I use something else than 'Alt'

I find almost no troubles with League of Legends at the moment. The fps on Ubuntu 13.04 with nVidia 310.xx drivers seems fine (even if lower to the one I had on lubuntu / crunchbang). Store works (not runes tough or rp shopping, I use virtualbox for that). Performance seems better with Fullscreen and no shadows. The only problem I had so far is a crash at the end of a game. At the moment I only played 2 customs (only one out of the 2 finished, I played them for testing purposes) and a ranked match. At the end of the match the client didn't show up and I had to kill he process with gnome system monitor. Luckly I had nobody to report :P
I will keep you updated if the problem persists / is solved.

So after a long two days of work I have finally got league of legends working and I can actually get into the game, with decent framerates (30-40). However, I have a horrible problem with glowing effects flashing across my entire screen. Could it be a problem with my video card drivers?

For all those who have the problems of the launcher freezing on "calculating differences", add to the launcher file:
"~/.PlayOnLinux/shortcuts/League of Legends"
the line:
"rm "$WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Riot Games/League of Legends/RADS/last_versions"
before the line:
"POL_Wine rads_user_kernel.exe ....."

This way every time you start LoL, you are ascked to accept the changes and then the Play button is always enabled.

This should probably be added by default

Wine version:1.5.24-LeagueOfLegendsShop

Distribution: Ubuntu

Distribution version: 13.04 (64 bit)

Graphics card: Radeon HD 6790

Graphics card driver: proprietary

Comments: Everything looks pretty good with the following problems:

- The store is not working, clicking on the ‘browse the store’ button gives a black screen

- My resolution was not correctly detected upon entering a game, I had to set it in the in-game options

- There is a flickering on my minimap (not nearly as bad as it had been on my previous attempts in wine, however)

- Some of the icons in the in-game shop are missing and instead show up as red squares

- I’m only getting between 10 and 20 fps in game, much lower than when I was running from Windows 7

Edit:  Moving my swappiness down to 10 from 60 corrected the minimap flickering completely and improved the fps somewhat (now I'm getting between 15 and 30)

An additional minor problem I've come across is that upon leaving a game, the LoL mouse shows in all desktop spaces and I cannot interact with anything through the mouse until I open terminal with the keyboard.  The LoL interface will also appear cut off and will need to be closed and reopened.

Edit #2:  The flickering on the minimap is actually not quite gone sometimes.

You can try to install "League of Legends: ingame shop icons fix" from the patches section, testing status.
From what I've read new broken items have been added to the game, and the patch not updated to override those new ones, so it's now an incomplete workaround (until the patch is updated).

League of Legends no longer works after the most recent patch (3.11). Logging in works fine, as well as champion select but the moment the game begins to load I get a BugSplat error. A fresh install of the game through PoL did not help.

YASUO UPDATE WORKING

OKAY SO I WAS ABLE TO LAUNCH THE GAME AND HAD NO PROBLEMS OPENING THE IN-GAME SHOP @-@

I should also point out that I don't actually know very much about linux beforehand. I am on a very old computer and while I can enter the game, i get very low FPS. BUT. It DOES work!

Bodhi Linux 32-bit
3GB DDR1 Ram
128 MB AMD ATI Radeon 9800 series graphics card
Intel Pentium 4 2.8Ghz Processor

I used /THIS/ guide to install. Then it would crash while trying to login.

http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/threads/league-of-legends-guide.206/page-2

I found this
https://bitbucket.org/Xargoth/tuxlol/wiki/Home

tuxlol patched some files, and I was finally able to login.

Then I had the issue of a black loading screen in which case it proceeded to crashed Enlightenment E17 in Bodhi Linux.

Now, in order to fix the black screen,, I found this:
http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3834522

So open up yer command prompt of choice, and run these in turn:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install libtxc-dxtn0

Now, it DID take me a while to start loading, but after it started it loaded up to 100% rather quickly. It took like 3 minutes for my old machine to allow me to enter the game, however as soon as I turned the graphics settings down(netting me a whole <5 FPS), I was able to hit 'P' to open the shop and was able to purchase Berserker's Greaves and a doran's blade for sivir no problem.

I was able to lock the camera to her by hitting 'Y', and then ran out to my lane.

Now, given the fact that I had like 3 FPS, I couldnt do much, but I figure that somebody here would appreciate the fact that I got it working :) i will most likely just have to install my windows xp disc on a second partition if I wish to play on this computer, but I feel accomplished that I was able to get it to work.
