Hello there I've been trying to follow the instructions at: http://www.playonmac.com/en/commentaires-1043.html but without success. I have installed the new version of wine (1.5.4-diabloIII) without any problems but I don't understand: "For those who have the DVD version, you need to mount it manually with unhide option and install it with wine 1.5.4-DiabloIII manually. Don't be afraid, we've planed to support the DVD version very soon."I have the DVD version and I have tried running the .exe from a new virtual drive with wine 1.5.4-DiabloIII but I get the error: "An error occurred while writing to your hard drive. Pklease make sure your hard drive is not full and try again. Please click the link below for more information or contact Customer Support if the problem persists.Error code: BLZPT"00009"Which was the same install error as I had before. I'm not sure what "unhide" option and stuff is. Can someone explain that? Thank you

I had the below output: drowz0r@Prime:~$ sudo umount /dev/sr0 [sudo] password for drowz0r: drowz0r@Prime:~$ sudo mkdir /media/Diablo3 drowz0r@Prime:~$ sudo mount /dev/sr0 /media/Diablo3 -o unhide, unhide, uid=$(id -g) mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only drowz0r@Prime:~$ I opened up PlayOnLinux and Clicked "+ Install" then "Install a non-listed program" then clicked next, then selected "Install a program in a new virtual drive" and clicked next. I named the drive "Diablo III" and clicked next. I then ticked "Use another version of Wine" and I select "1.5.4-DiabloIII" and click next. IT loads for a few seconds and then I can select "CD-Rom : Diablo3" like I could previously and I click next. An error appears saying: "Error: Wine seems to have crashed If your program is running, just ignore this message" but the program isn't running.

The game installed and runs fine. Hurray! After some fiddling all my shortcuts and everything worked fine too. It's seemingly flawless now! Much appreciated! Edited by Drowz0r

Instead of installing a non-listed program, first install Diablo 3 from the PoL games menu. This will automatically install the wine 1.5.4-DiabloIII version
If you run into problems though, just go back to installing a non listed program since the wine version you need is already installed
OR
you could find an .rpm package for this certain wine version which is hopefully out there, compiled by a good ol pal.

Thank you POL for making it easy to get D3 to run on Ubuntu. I managed to get Diablo3 running on POL but when the game startsup my 2nd monitor goes blank and into power save mode. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Edit: Nvm, I found out that by setting wine to emulate a desktop of the same size as my main monitor then my 2nd monitor won't go into power save mode. :) Edited by loafer

Thank you for making Diablo III work!! Used the CE DVD, with:
mount sudo umount /dev/sr0 sudo mkdir /media/Diablo3 sudo mount /dev/sr0 /media/Diablo3 -o unhide,unhide,uid=$(id -g)
Clicked install Diablo III in POL, selected the exe on the cd, and it installed so fast, before the story during install was finished, the game was installed!
TIp: if you use bumblebee, run POL in optirun mode, so the installer sees your 2nd graphic card, and thus installs D3 the right way!
