Any chance of applying the same patch to Wine 1.5.25 and inserting the patched version into PlayOnLinux? . Thanks in advance...

If you would like to request a wine version to be built, please post a feature request here:
http://www.playonmac.com/en/tracker-2.html
Also, when posting there, make sure that you post a link to the patch in question, make sure you specify which version of wine you would like patched, the name of the patched wine when finished, and the reason and program you want it patched for.
Thanks

Yeah. Its actually an automated system, though, Im not sure what triggers it to go off. One time it was done in less than 48 hours after my request, another took about a week.

Hi, Compilation itself is automated, but setting up a new patch requires some manual intervention. Quentin asked me to assign this request to him so he doesn't forget about it, but he'll be passing exams next week so I'm not sure that will be done before it's over...

Just droping a line to confirm Davvvve's finding and, perhaps, elaborate just a little bit. The patched 1.4.rc5 totally screws up the colours and rendering time so I get an unusable flickering mess of pastel colours and off-whites. In my case, this cannot be remedied by adjusting shader quality. Entropia running under this version of Wine appears to be, otherwise, quite stable. 1.5.25 unpatched renders the colours correctly but Entropia Universe terminates almost instantly once you enter "Look mode" and move the mouse to look around. 1.5.26_d3d-doublebuffer renders the avatars in white but otherwise fails to load the avatar textures. Other than this, colours and textures are rendered correctly. Once "Look mode" is engaged and the mouse is moved to look around, the game suffers an unscheduled termination about 20 seconds later. The gory details are as follows - and I quote:
Entropia Universe did not shut down normally.
You may submit information about your PC configuration to MindArk. This will help MindArk to improve Entropia Universe in future updates. The information that will be sent if you accept is:
OS = Windows XP Memory = 3968 Graphics Adapter = NVIDIA GForce 9800 GT Graphics Adapter Driver Version = 6.15.12.6658 Exception Address = 5393533 Version = 14.1.1.107763
Please note the seemingly very old nVidia driver version - confirmed by nVidia X-Server which shows the 304.43 driver version. Is this normal on Wine and is it possible to coax either nVidia x-server or Kubuntu's Software Updater into automatically updating nVidia drivers as they become available? Maybe this is just my opinion, but I think that this is an important question to answer if we are going to succeed in making Linux accessible to Entropia Universe users. Unless Davvvve is using the exacty same graphics card and driver version as me, I would, tentatively, suggest that there appears to be a video memory leak - possibly from a forgotten "garbage collection" routine somewhere in Wine and that, rather than the amount of buffering, may be the source of the problem. . If you think any of this detail might be of interest to the folks over at WinHQ, please let me know and I'll append the thread over there...
