does POL actually needs a local Wine installation?

You do not need to have wine installed on your system to use PoL, it download mandatory wine version for each software you install with it.

That raises a question!

I installed wine and it didn't work, so I downloaded POL.

Can I safely uninstall my "other" wine and the wine in POL will be unaffected?

What about Winetricks?
