Help: One Steam To Rule Them All

Using POL, I had Steam installed happily in its own prefix(steam). When I used POL to install HL2, it insisted on installing Steam in its own prefix(hl2). The same thing happened with TF2 so I assume that this occurs with every steam game in POL.

What I want to know is if there is a way to have a single copy of Steam in its own prefix(steam) that all Steam games use from within their personal prefixes. I realize that the only way to accomplish this may be manually creating symlinks but I would prefer it to be more automated.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

It's impossible since nearly each game need it's own third-party/fix/tweak to work with wine.

It's also a LOT cleaner to have one prefix per game/software and a lot easier to solve bugs like this.

That sucks. At least Steam isn't too big.
