Hi I'm trying to run counter-strike source using 4.0.13 playonlinux, wine 1.3.25. My computer board is a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3, 4 gig ram and onboard intel HD 2000 graphics card.

Steam login pops up, I log in, the game says it's preparing to launch, then the load box disappears and nothing happens at all. I tried it with team fortress 2 also, same thing.

Only thing I can think of is I wasn't too sure on how much memory my onboard video card has, I told it 1024 MB. I'm not sure what to put there, as far as I know onboard video's memory is the RAM that you have.

I'm using the newest Ubuntu 11.10 or what ever. I downloaded the newest playonlinux from here and sudo dpkg -i the program

Not quite with the onboard memory thing. You can actually set in the bios of your computer how to adjust the amount of memory you want available for video/graphic processing but it doesn't automatically set this limit to the max of your memory, naturally you would run out and not have enough for other processes.

If your computer has 4gb of memory and your video card is set to use up to 1gb then you actually only have 3gb of memory available, at least that's my understanding of it. Try getting into your bios and taking a peak or look up your specs online to make sure. That might be causing the issue and it's something to try while you wait.
