Hey guys,

I've used POL before, but I have only used Ubuntu, and Linux mint. Using those I've used Synaptic Package Manager, clicked "Play on Linux". It automatically installs Wine with POL, and POL is in the 'Games' sub-menu.

Now I'm using Fedora 15 w/Gnome 3, and it's a different story. Add/Remove Software is the closest thing to Synaptic, and POL is not in there. So I installed POL from the POL website, under the Fedora subheading. Installed sucsessfully.

However it is no where to be found. Gnome 3 does not have drop down menus like Ubuntu, or a MintMenu like Linux Mint. All the application is Gnome 3 are in 1 big clump in the applications section, and it's just not there.

So, where can I find it?

Secondly, Wine has always been installed for me when I install POL by Synaptic, so I haven't installed it myself this time. Was it installed with POL, or must I install it manually? If so, what is the easiest way?

Thanks in advance.

System Info:

Graphics Card is Nvidia Geforce w/Cuda (unsure of model number).

First to run PlayOnLinux, open a terminal and type "playonlinux"

You will be able to see if something is missing here. (If wine is not installed, install it)

Command not found, it's asking me if I want to install it.

I'll install it now, HOWEVER I did install it using the install file from the POL website for Fedora. When I tried again, it said it WAS installed.

By installing it now via command, am I installing it a second time? I'm a little confused...

Or does the version provided on the POL website not support Gnome 3? Or should that not make a difference.

I'm installing it via command, it said it was missing the command ar, provided by binutils. So i'm installing that now...

I'll type what you said after I try this...

Alright, it seems to be doing SOMETHING, lol.

Installed binutils, ran 'playonlinux' from command, and it was 'updating' for 10 minutes, without the main POL screen. So I closed that, ran the command you suggested, '/usr/share/playonlinux/playonlinux' it went though a lot of plugins, it's installing Microsoft Fonts atm, it loaded POL, and the update finished. So i'm just waiting for the fonts to install, then i'll try using it.

Thanks for all your help... If anything else happens i'll reply in here shortly ;)
