HI,
Im running Ubuntu maverick, I downloaded a pay-version of diablo II (the windows one) from blizzard store website and installed it through wine.
As I dont have a virtual machine, I thought about playing it with PoL, but the script only asks me to insert the disk, which I dont have, since I downloaded it.
Does anybody know how to solve that ?
Thanks,

PoL installer of this game need to be updated to support "Digital Version" (and have a serious clean out since it's not standard from a long time ago) but, from what I can see, use "install unsupported game" in PoL install menu and use wine-1.2.3 for it, it must work "out-of-the-box". Ah, thanks I tried that but somehow it doesnt work.
I can install it, launch it through wine but after the first two skippable spots, screen just stay blank or black and all i can do is leave the game, cause nothing else happens.
I wonder what's going on ...

I see nothing about your problem from AppDB tests/comments, try a "wine only" installation (I mean, without using PoL) and if it hang the same way (99.99% sure of that), post your problem on WineHQ forum and on "Diablo II - Digital download" AppDB page to expect a fix. I do not have this game so I cannot help you more but if you don't test the "old" way, wine dev will simply ignore you, crying/arguing of PoL "evil" influence so don't even mention PoL but insist on the fact you tested it with only wine.
