Hello,

I installed DA:O and played until the end of the game. Then I tried to install DA:O Awakenings (i did it manually extracting rar files and placing them in the right directories), run the game and Awakenings were available even if version 1.03 IS a requirement, in fact the new characters were headless (literally). So i check on POL if there was a way to patch the game, and yer, I run the POL script for DA:O 1.04 patch, but it is not working with "Download then use the last patch", after automatically downloading the file it return "NSIS Error: Error launching installer". So i did get the last patch from bioware site, using again the patching script but with the other option, indicating where the file is on my pc. Installed the patch, next, finish.... try to run the game and the game is no longer running, no error messages, it just create the blue window (I like to play the game in a window) but nothing else, and after 2 second the blue window disappear.

Is there a way to have that game working again, patched, without deleting AGAIN the wineprefix and reinstalling everything? I tried 4 times and always the same, the basic game work but as soon as I patch it (no matter which version of the patch I use) the game result unplayable.

Thank you.

It seems that some dll are no longer available, how can I fix this?

You can use "PlayOnLinux Functions" (Installation->Others) to reinstall PhysX in DAO prefix.

For NSIS error with POL patch installer, I don't have this error (tested on 2 differents hardware)

Now I'm trying a different way, I will install AGAIN Dao, then patch the game just before the installation of VC libraries, Physix and Mono, I hope this way it will work. I'll let you know.

Ok, installing the patch just after the game install, before the pol setup continue to install stuff (vc6, physix and mono), work.
