using generic pol on fedora

i am new to playing windows games on linux and i have to go to my local library to dl any .
my question is i dl'ed the generic pol instead of the one for fc8 and when ever i try ./playonlinux or anything from that directory it tells me that the command can not be found.
what is going on here.
