Hello there!

So far, PlayOnLinux is a friendly front end for wine and folks like me appreciate it. I'm trying to run Guild Wars (the trilogy, if that helps). When I run the game through PlayOnLinux, what happens is that the login screen comes up just fine, the character select does great, but when I actually load into the game itself (Shing Jea Monastery, if that helps), everything in the main area is white, with only red highlights. The user interface panels like the compass map, the Party list, the chat window, etc, all load just fine. I can also see the names of the other players and NPCs. Just the actual toons and the background are all white.

I'm running it under the System version of Wine (which I think is 1.2). Wine is configured to emulate Windows 7.

System: IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T60p running Kubuntu 10.04 32-bit (KDE)
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility FireGL V5200
Graphics Driver: radeon (the open-source driver, to the best of my knowledge)

Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much!

I've been running it with Wine set to Windows XP, personally (on Ubuntu 10.04), and it works fine. Maybe try this first, then we'll see if the graphics card or something else is to blame... I know there seems to be a lot of issues with ATI.

Disclaimer: I'm a noob, not a dev; my advice is only a guess.
Attention : Je suis aussi noob que vous, prenez mes suggestions avec un grain de sel ;)
