Hi,

I tried to get my external lightscribe drive to work with Ubuntu 10.04 but it wouldn't work.

This one; http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection/windows/index.aspx

Please can someone tell me will it make any difference trying to get it to work by installing Play on Linux, as I heard it is just the front end of Wine, so it should be the exact same really?

Thanks.

Hum... There's a page for Linux downloads, wouldn't that work?

No that only provides the simple labeller software which is only text, I need the lightscribe custom labeller to work so I can add images etc. But it never boots up on Linux using Wine.

I was able to install and launch both trials, but not do anything useful without them crashing. I can't really help you further myself, but you can help others help you by following these guidelines: http://www.playonmac.com/en/topic-659-How_to_explain_your_problems.html

If Wine can't run it, I don't think PoL can do much more, especially since we don't already have a script for it, but I'll leave that to others. At any rate, best of luck!

P. S. If nothing works, maybe you can try https://sourceforge.net/projects/cd-circle-print/
