Hello!
I am running into a problem when first running any of the MS Office 2007- it can't activate the suite.
I get the following error: "A communication error has occurred. Your request cannot be processed at this time. Please try again in a few minutes."
I have tried it a couple of times, but nothing unfortunately.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot for your time!

Hello,
I am very grateful to you people who made it possible to install M$ Office 2007 on my Linux machine.
However, I am experiencing the same problem Tomas encountered: The Activation Wizard aborts with a communcation error. Apparently, Office is not able to connect to the internet.
Also, how can I properly apply the Office Service Pack 2 if at all? I tried to install it manually, editing an "application already existing". That worked fairly well until it crashed with a fatal error. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the effort,
HansFranz

Hi,
From the WineAppDB, it's seem that it's impossible to activate Office 2007 and to apply the SPU2.
Try with the last release of Wine w/o guaranty.

I know that activation works by entering cd-key (i don't know if all Office 2007 versions include that possibility).
Any service pack isn't installable and it's limited by Wine. Luckily there isn't many peoples interested in that because there isn't many votes (5 to be precise) for resolving that issue (more info here)
