Hey there,

I've got a problem with The Sims 3 constantly crashing without any error messages when I try to enter a lot, both using playonlinux and wine 1.1.26. I've made a post about it in the wine forums, but I didn't get much response, so I'm hoping someone here can help.
It doesn't seem to be the same as this bug, http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18991, there's no sign of a "Assertion at ..\\..\\mono\\mono\\metadata\\icall.c:5454, condition `err' not met" or anything like that in my terminal, so I figure it's something else. All I'm getting in the terminal is

which tells me nothing, but perhaps someone else can make sense of it :) So far I've been playing with Cedega, but the game crashes occasionally and I was hoping wine 1.1.26 would take care of that.

Hi Mearlach,
you probably won't get answer here as it seems to be a Wine problem which is neither known here nor on AppDB and I'm not Wine developer so i don't know this things :)

However i would bet that this are problems with your graphic card on Wine.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not getting any help on the wine forum, so I guess I'm stuck with cedega for a while. The game did run for on wine a few months ago, I only switched to cedega because of the frequent crashes, so I doubt it's my graphics card. Well, obviously something changed since my first attempts with wine, I'm just gonna have to figure out what.

Edit: Perhaps someone can at least answer me this. I tried doing a reinstall and completely removed playonlinux and wine with synaptic and the ~/.Playonlinux folder, but when I started the game it found my old saved game, so apparently I didn't remove everything. What am I missing?
