Hey everyone!
I really like the idea behind the project "PlayOnLinux". However, I have an issue with "The sims 3". I have borrowed the game from my sister and want to run it... here are a few informations about my computer, maybe those are relevant:
OS: Linux Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU
GPU: GeForce 9500 GT (512 MB)
I installed The Sims 3 by clicking on the Install-Button and choosing The Sims 3.
Whenever I start the game, it crashes instantly with my screenresolution getting low.
I tried booting with following Wine-versions:
· 1.1.24-TheSims3
· 1.1.9
Are there any possibilities how I can get the game starting?

Hmm... I assume the source of all this may be your CPU (maybe WIne crashes on multicore CPUs as it is with Fallout 3). I think it may even be the same problem as here. You probably get segmentation faults. Sadly i don't know how to manage it. Edited by NSLW

So it won't work because of my CPU and I can't solve it? Edited by Puzzlenoise

I don't know. It's only my assumption. You can read forum more so maybe you'll find solution.
