No it isn't normal. It would be good if you could provide terminal output.

Installer wasn't designed to take installer from user but to download one which is over 800MB big °_° i corrected that so now you can choose your installation file for RO.

Ok, Sry if i hadn't replied for awhile.

K so its not normal... It happened when it said do u have the installer for ragnarok online and i clicked yes, then i browsed the game then clicked next. Then it asked me where to create shortcuts and i only putted:

Create in menu.

Where in my menu? anyways now that i see the game on my list in playonlinux. i double clicked Ragnarok Online. So now it doesn't pop anything up. And in the output in my terminal says this:

NOTE: i putted $USER because i don't want anyone to know my name :P

[$USER@$USER $USER]$ playonlinux

PlayOnLinux v3.5

Checking python : [ Ok ]
Running install menu
wine: '/home/$USER' is not owned by you, refusing to create a configuration directory there
wine: '/home/$USER/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix' is not owned by you, refusing to create a configuration directory there
wine: '/home/$USER/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix' is not owned by you, refusing to create a configuration directory there
wine: '/home/$USER/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix' is not owned by you, refusing to create a configuration directory there
Running Ragnarok Online
Ragnarok Online: line 4: cd: /home/$USER/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/RagnarokOnline/drive_c//Gravity/RagnarokOnline: No such file or directory
wine: '/home/$USER/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix' is not owned by you, refusing to create a configuration directory there

Please help me! I'm not very good at this playonlinux thing

No i didn't try it, but my sister is root. but she isn't at my house, i also tried MSN-ing her but she doesn't trust me with her pass. So does this mean i can't play anything on playonlinux? is there another way to play it by not being root?

You shouldn't use root permissions and that is what you did. That's why you cannot install Ragnarok Online. Now you must delete ~/.PlayOnLinux directory

1. Huh? why should i delete the playonlinux directory??? isn't that what makes playonlinux work? Or do u mean uninstall playonlinux?

2. And also do u mean that i can never play a windows game with root permissions? if so, what should i do here???

OR should i just stop doing what im doing and do something else?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(worst idea :( cuz i have nothing to play)

EDIT: what do u mean by root permissions?

You should delete this directory or change permission on it, because now you haven't got any permissions for writing to it.
This directory contains configuration and installed games for PlayOnLinux. If you delete it PlayOnLinux will stay and will be unconfigured.

You don't have to use root permissions to either to install or play games. You don't have to do anything to install and play without root permissions.

If you typ su - and then gives your admin password, you've got root permissions or if you do sudo before every command then you also have got root permissions. Just don't do this with PlayOnLinux and everything will be OK.
