:D Hello! I just switched one of my computers to Linux! so , i'm very new to this.
So, my problem is whenever i start up the game i get a error dialog that says,
"unable to start game Service Initialization failed (0x024e424f)"
Then once i click "ok" it exits to the desktop with a horrible resolution. Once i got an error saying
" Runtime error! Program: C...R6025 - pure virtual function call" so far i got that once.

My Specs...

- System: Ubuntu 9.04 - the Jaunty Jackalope
- Wine version :Wine 1.1.23-TheSims3
- Desktop: Gnome
- Prosesser: Intel i7
- RAM: 3GB DDR3
- Graphics : ATI Radion 4800 HD

Any Help Would Be Appreciated!, thanks!

Have you checked if you've got 3d acceleration?
What version of graphic drivers do you use?

I'm not sure how to check ether one... but in the Hardware drivers window it says I'm using a ATI/AMD Proprietary FGLRX Graphics driver.

EDIT: ok i did a little more searching and i found the specific driver for my card on Linux I'm installing this now... i'm almost positive i have graphics shaders 2.0 because i could play the game on windows on the same computer before i switched to Ubuntu.

Set value "Default Wine Version to run wine programs with PlayOnLinux" in Settings->Environment to System

Intel cards probably won't run The Sims 3 on Linux. I haven't even saw successful test report. It's because graphic drivers.Anyhow did you try what is written here, particularly point 2g?

Yes. I have checked and tried everything written there and here. And I still have the same error. Is there no workaround with my graphics drivers?

Sorry, but i don't know anything about it as i haven't got any contact with Intel cards on Linux.
