I installed steam fine, and it has been working, but just now every time I load it, after I get the main steam menu loaded it kills itself. Any suggestions? (id really like to play trackmania :p)

When I run playonlinux from the terminal, it loads playonlinux fine. But that isnt my problem, the problem is with an installed program not playonlinux

If it worked before then maybe you should consider reinstallation

That is no doubt. Run playonlinux from terminal and then start a game and see what is in it when steam kills itself.

It's hard to advise something. Do other 3d games work? Did you tried Settings->System and then 3D test to be sure it isn't video drivers isue?
