Hello everybody. Does anybody have any suggestions on a good game pad/controller that is compatible with linux. I've recently tried Logitech's dual controller, but no such luck. With wine I was able to install the necessary drivers but I was never successful at getting the box to recognize the controller. What controllers are you folks using, and how did you get them to work?

Thanks,

Even if you may have died waiting for an answer:
I'm using a Saitek P880, it's fully supported, everything works OOTB.

I've never used a Saitek, but many sites have praised its use on Linux. I just may try this controller out. Just today, I was able to get a Philips SG2910BB/27 to work (after some slight modifications). However, the controller still feels a little "sticky" when using it. Although, if this is the only one I can find that succeeds, I'll purchase one (this controller was at my fathers house for the grandkids games on his Windoze PC). Thanks again for the input.

Pelican Afterglow controller for PS3 has been working great for me. Purchased one about 2 weeks ago and have loved it ever since. My only question now is... does anybody have any suggestions on how to get things working with a controller-to-keyboard emulation?

Some of the games I'm playing do not natively accept game pad controls, only keyboard commands. I would like to emulate these commands with my new controller (especially the mouse). I've succeeded in emulating keyboard commands in a terminal (and other select windows), but I'm not able to carry this over into a game (BTW, I'm using joy2key... FYI). Any suggestions?

Thanks,
