Hi

I'm using PlayOnLinux 3.3 under Ubuntu 8.10 x86.
I installed Baldurs Gate 2. Installation worked perfectly, but I'm not able to launch the game.

Running Baldurs Gate 2
Baldurs Gate 2: line 4: cd: /home/user/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/BaldursGate2/drive_c/Program Files/Black Isle/BGII - SoA/: No such file or directory

This is does not work because the German name is "Schatten von Amn" (SvA) and not "Shadow of Amn" (SoA).

cd /home/user/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/BaldursGate2/drive_c/Program\ Files/Black\ Isle/BGII\ -\ SvA/

should do it. Would be nice to have this detected when installing the game in the German version.

Thanks,

Hi rettichschnidi,

Thank you for reporting this issue, I'm gonna fix it in the installation script but to do that, I need to know the content of the installation CD.
So could you paste here the output of the ls command, ran in the directory where you mounted the CD, please?

By the way, since you're german (I guess, else it would be strange to play the german version of the game ) I can add in the same time some translations to the installation script if you accept to do them.
Here are the sentences:
"Installing BaldursGate2..."
"BaldursGate2 has been successfully installed."

Bye

Hi

The output of ls is at the end of this posting. Let me know if you need a deeper ls (there are 213 files, so I just posted the ones in the root of the dvd-rom for now).

Note: I own this[1] version. And it's multilingual, so you won't be able to use the dvd to detect which language will be installed since I can choose the language during the setup.

Translations:
"Installing BaldursGate2..." = "Installiere Baldur's Gate 2 ..."
"BaldursGate2 has been successfully installed." = "Baldur's Gate 2 wurde erfolgreich installiert."

btw: I'm Swiss not German

Thanks,
rettichschnidi

Thank you for the DVD's content, even if you pointed out that it's useless to detect which language will be installed.

I'll find something else (and I'll add your translations at the same time. I think I'll do it tomorrow)

Err, damned! It was close

Bye

EDIT: Voilà, I updated the script. I added:#Detecting an installation in German for which the game's directory has a different name
cd $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Program\ Files/Black\ Isle/
GAME_DIR="$WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Program\ Files/Black\ Isle/$(ls -p | grep BGII)"
before this part of the script:#Shortcut
POL_SetupWindow_make_shortcut "BaldursGate2" "Program Files/Black Isle/BGII - SoA/" "baldur.exe" "" "Baldurs Gate 2"

POL_SetupWindow_message "$FINISH" "BaldursGate 2"
POL_SetupWindow_Close

#-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#End script v_3 BaldursGate2
#-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

exit
Of course, I also replaced "Program Files/Black Isle/BGII - SoA/" (the second argument of the POL_SetupWindow_make_shortcut command in this last piece of code) by "$GAME_DIR" in the updated version of the script. (else the two commands I added would have been useless )

Could you please retry to install the game (if you have spare time) to check that the script works now?

Sorry, but that doesn't work.

/home/reto/.PlayOnLinux/install: line 59: cd: /home/reto/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/BaldursGate2/drive_c/Program Files/Black Isle/: No such file or directory

this part gets called ways to early. Wine has just launched the Installer.
