hi,

Could you please start pol via your console and post the error message if you get any? that way we might be able to figure out what the problem is...

If there is a problem, fill out complaint form and place it in an envelope addressed to the name of the hospital in which you were born....

Hi,

I'm also having this same issue. Oblivion just crashes as soon as you click play from the launch window. Also, it changes your desktop resolution to whatever resolution the game was trying to start in. So, if you're like me and you trying it out on minimal settings for starters, then you got kicked back to 640x480.

My system info is as follows:

Software/Environment:
Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) x64
kernel Linux 2.6.24-21-generic
GNOME Version: 2.22.3
playonlinux 3.3.1
wine 1.0.0-1ubuntu4~hardy1

Hardware:
Pentium D 3.0GHz Processor
4Gb RAM DDR2 800MHz
GEForce 8400GS 256Mb Video Card
nForce 650i Ultra Motherboard

Here's the output from the terminal.

PlayOnLinux v3.3.1

I'm still fairly new to Linux and I'm not sure if there are lots of issues with running in x64 like there often is with Windows. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide and let me know if there's anything I can do to help as well.

You have to get the .dll file d3dx9_27.dll and place it in system32 folder. Then go to wine configuration and set the d3dx9_27 to native.
