The forum

To start off, this is new territory for me, so apologies if I'm daft and have missed a basic step here!
I downloaded some old PC game files, mostly games I got in cereal boxes as a kid -- Candyland, The Game of Life -- and I'm having a real bad time installing them.
With both games, I get to the point of launching the installer, but when I click install it crashes. It never gets past this point, no matter which edition of Windows I'm using.

Is there something else I'm missing here? I'm running this on an M1 macbook pro.

Thank you in advance, I'm sick as hell and hoping to play some nostalgic games until I'm better.
