What about 32-bit Mac software?

As I understand it, PlayOnMac is a wine-based solution to running Windows software on a Mac. Is there a similar solution to running 32-bit MAC software under Catalina or Big Sur? The options I can see are an expensive virtual machine like Parallels or Fusion, or a boot partition running Mojave or earlier. I wish there was something as elegant and simple as PlayOnMac, that's free or low-cost and doesn't involve rebooting.
