I am unable to launch PlayOnMac

Hello,

I recently downloaded PlayOnMac version 4.4.1 onto my macbook pro (macOS Catalina 10.15.6), however it isn't launching. Everytime I try to open the application an error message pops up saying "PlayOnMac can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software" followed by "This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information." 

Is there anyone who could help me with this issue?
