The Sims 3 working in POL on Debian, but not on Ubuntu

Different Linux, same .PlayOnLinux folder, different results

I read somewhere that games in PlayOnLinux should work the same everywhere, as long as it's the same .PlayOnLinux-folder. I've had a working copy of The Sims 3 in PlayOnLinux on Debian for a couple of years; now, I decided to try and install Ubuntu 20.04 in an adjacent partition. I've also installed PlayOnLinux, however, when I point (symlink) PlayOnLinux on Ubuntu to the exact same .PlayOnLinux folder, I get an error. Specifically, this one:
