It appears that Play on Mac is attempting to load resources from here:

https://web.archive.org/web/20140615000000/http://download.microsoft.com

This URL is now broken, it appears that it worked in the recent past.

I there another method of installing these resources?

These are the messages in the log:

07/17/20 21:14:01 - [POL_SetupWindow_question] Message: question answer: TRUE
07/17/20 21:14:01 - [POL_Download_Resource] Message: Downloading resource https://web.archive.org/web/20140615000000/http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/b/c/abc45517-97a0-4cee-a362-1957be2f24e1/W

I am attempting to install Pharoah and Cleopatra using PlayOnMac 4.4.1 on the following:

MacOS Catalina 10.15.5

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)

2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

If I skip this step I get the following and if I still persist the install ultimately fails (which would be expected):

I need to know what function want to download this file (as example: I checked this one and the file is OK: https://www.playonlinux.com/fr/app-518-POL_Install_gdiplus.html), so what game are you trying to install ?

I am attempting to install Pharoah and Cleopatra using PlayOnMac 4.4.1. I am using the GOG installer "setup_pharaoh_gold_2.1.0.15.exe"

I tried this again today to see if there were any changes and it still reports the same error.

Ok so now I know that the script you use is GOG.com - Pharaoh and Cleopatra. The only function is uses is POL_GoG_install, and this function calls a other function (POL_Install_gdiplus) that need to download a file (WindowsXP-KB975337-x86-ENU.exe) from web.archive.org.

I tested (clicked in the script) the download link, it does work. So perhaps the issue is related to POM v4.4.1, the issue need more research...
