Hi, I recently installed playonmac to help me install metatrader4 onto my mac. I installed it but had trouble finding the Mt4 ikon i found it in the playonmac virtual drive ok. It seemed to be working ok. I think i then copied the mt4 ikon directly onto my mac desktop attempting to cretae a shortcut link.

 

I then noticed that most of my ikons and contents of my desktop and documents folder had disappered! 

 

Any thoughts to what may have happened, can i getvthe files back, they seem to have disapperaed! thanks.

Any ideas to what might have happened , surley this is dangerous? it wiped my documents folder and desktop!!!!!!

It looks like a Buffer overflow issue .

It is the script you used ? : Metatrader 4 (I mean did you install by clicking 'Metatrader 4' listed in POL ?).

Note: I updated the script (see the CHANGELOG) and added a warning.

 Dadu - Yes I clicked on the  'Metatrader 4' listed in POL  .

 

1) Installed play on mac as normal

2) I first tried to load MT4 from a file I had downloaded on to my PC, 

3) i then tried clicking on the Metatrader 4 listed in the POL, this seemed to work , but there were some warning/ error messages, but MT4 just loaded up and started working.

4) One thing i did was copy the MT4 exe onto my desktop, attempting to create a desktop short cut. that when i notices all my desk top items and items from my documets folder had disappered.

 

 

Do you guys know of the documnets are possible to restore? I tried some restore software with deep scan but it looks like the files have gone, any help apprciated. Thank you.
