Hey y'all, I have a "early 2011" 13 inch macbook pro running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5.

Background: Before this I had a 2012 macbook that I assume was running the same OS, after many years of love and friendship its screen went to Jesus and I bought a refurbished macbook instead of replacing the screen. On my old computer, PlayOnMac worked great and I didn't really have issues with it. When I got my new computer, I did a complete transfer of everything, so I assumed my games would still work. For some reason, they weren't.

I tried a lot of different things, eventually (in my naivete) uninstalling POM and Wine and reinstalling. Now, after a lot of google searches, I realize that my game (from GOG) needs a specific version of wine (1.4.1), but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it. I tried the Tools > Manage Wine Versions, but it won't let me get 1.4.1, I think because I don't have any wine installed at all at the moment. I tried installing the latest version of wine, but their website is so weird?? Like when you go to "downloads" it doesn't even bring you to the downloads? there are all these folers? I don't even know what a binary package is?

I'm wouldn't call myself technologically illiterate but when it comes to any sort of modifications "under the hood" I don't know anything - I'm just a 23 year old girl who wants to play her favorite games from her childhood. So I'm sorry if I'm being completely dense. This game (Zeus: Master of Olympus) is one of my all time faves and I just got the craving so bad I've spent 90 minutes trying to get this to work. I don't know if it's just me not understanding this, but I feel like the POL user manual doesn't even talk about how to download wine and I need someone to explain this to me in the dumbest terms possible.

Any help at all is appreciated, sorry I'm so long winded!!

You don't need to install wine by yourself on OSX.

Just install POM and use the Wine version manager to install what you want. The game may be run on newer wine version (not everybody try all wine version so informations are sometimes not up-to-date). But I'm not a OSX user by myslef and I'm not sure if 32-bit version of wine are still available on Yosemite and/or if you need XQuartz...
