Hi,

I just finalized the installation of Tony Hawk: Pro Skater 3 and (following the instructions I online) everything in that process seemed to work. When I then tried to run the game, I received a pop-up with the following wording "CD copy protection check failed. Please insert an official Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 CD and restart the application."

The thing is, the CD is already in place - I imagine that I need to mount the CD-player in play on linux somehow... I am a totally new user of play on linux and very inexperienced when it comes to Linux too - so any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, this can be a problem with Wine and PlayOnLinux.

You can make sure the CD ROM drive is mounting by going to:

  1. Configure
  2. Wine Tab
  3. Wine Configuration
  4. Drives Tab

If you don't see a D: or E: drive, try adding it and configuring as a ROM drive.

Then try Tony Hawk again.  Also, make sure you are using PlayOnLinux 4.2.12 and a newer version of Wine like Wine 3.0 or 3.6
