Hi!

I've recently installed Steam and Age of Empires II HD in my Mac, but the resolution that I get is quite low. I followed this guide to install the game.

The game doesn't look HD at all. I've compared what I get with screenshots and I'm definitely getting a lower resolution.

Even Steam looks low resolution. Text is really bad, which I've read I can fix enabling font smoothing as described here. However, even the arrows and icons look terrible. I'm not sure about images because I don't get steam to load anything on the client. I always get the spinner on the top right.

I've opened a question in askubuntu, and somebody recommended to ask here.

I've tried downloading XQuartz, although it never installed through playonmac. In the guide I followed, it seemed like playonmac was controlling the installation, but I downloaded XQartz from their webpage and installed it on my Mac as any other app. Maybe this is the part I'm doing wrong.

I've also configured wine to use "emulate a virtual desktop" and I put the resolution of my screen, but this didn't change anything. For what is worth, even that wine screen where I configured the screen resolution for the virtual desktop had a very low resolution.

I'll try to upload images of what I define as low resolution here.

Detail inside the game.

Detail of Steam. Here you can clearly see the difference between Steam and the background image

Detail of Wine configuration.

Any hint of how to solve this would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)
