Hi Guys, I followed the instructions http://wiki.playonlinux.com/index.php/Installing_PlayOnLinux

from "On Ubuntu Precise (and higher)"

entered in terminal

echo "foreign-i386 architecture"> /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch
apt-get update
apt-get install wine:i386

and  got the error mesage package wine:i386 cannot be found.

Is the guide not valid UBUNTU 16.04? If not, how can I proceed to install playonlinux on UBUNTU 16.04?

Thanks in advance for any advice

P.S. please go easy with explanations, I am not really skilled with linux ;)

You can install it from the repository directly:

sudo apt install playonlinux

Thanks, I did install from the repository, but the software I intended t play on linux did not want to install. I now installed virtualbox + WIN7 as guest system and the problem is solved ;)
