Hello.

I've finished installing a program and I've selected shortcuts to be created for the program I was interested for but the shortcut did not bear the appopriate icon neither when I selected the program's .exe nor when selecting the respective .lnk file.

My question is: how do I create a change a playonlinux shortcut's icon to it's target .exe icon files?

Thanks in advance for your time and energy.

I've tried my luck with both wrestool or icoutil but without any luck.

$ wrestool -l foo.exe
wrestool: foo.exe: premature end
$ icotool -l foo.exe
foo.exe: not an icon or cursor file (reserved non-zero)

I have filed a bug report regarding my troubles using icotool or wrestool:

This happens all the time with PlayOnLinux.  I will normally set the icon manually myself.  One way to do it is find the .ico file for the game and open it in GIMP, then save it as a PNG.  Now you can right-click the shortcut in PlayOnLinux and set the icon for the PNG
