I need to install .NET 4.5 on a virtual drive, however, the dotnet45 option under Install Components just doesn't seem to want to complete; it's getting stuck on the following message:

"Please wait while .NET Framework 3.0 SP1 Update is installed..."

However, no matter how long I leave it it never seems to get any further. This is particularly annoying as I believe I already have that particular component installed, so it shouldn't need to install it again.

I've tried running the .NET offline installers to no avail; after setting the OS version in winecfg to something more recent than XP I can get the installer to try to run, but it immediately crashes.

Is there any other way I can install .NET 4.5? As I understand it the install components tool is just a GUI for winetricks, is it possible to run winetricks itself? If so, how do I do this with a POL/PM setup?
