Hi egetun,

You didn't found any source package because there is no source. (or more precisely, there is no binary).
Indeed, since POL is written in bash and python, you just need to download the generic package, extract it and open files with a text editor to see the source code.

We are always happy to see POL packages available for other distributions, so feel free to ask other questions if you need to.
I can even give you address to contact others packagers if you have question for them.

Hello,

I am "istihza" of Pardus-Linux.Org located at http://forum.pardus-linux.org/. Indeed, I built pisi packages for Playonlinux, and uploaded it to our repository at http://paketler.pardus-linux.org/users-2007/. Pardus users have long been using it, and we have been receiving very positive feedbacks from them. Actually, I tried to tell you about our package before, but I could not find any direct contact address to inform you about the Pardus pisi package of Playonlinux. Today one of our friends at Pardus-Linux.Org directed me to this forum, and told me that I could write to you.

In our repository of pisi packages, we have these versions of Playonlinux:

PlayonLinux 2.6.0
PlayonLinux 2.7.0
PlayonLinux 2.7.1
PlayonLinux 2.7.2
PlayonLinux 3.0.0
PlayonLinux 3.0.1

I would like to congratulate you on making such a wonderful program. Keep going!..

Note: You can find the build source files for the pisi package at
http://svn.pardus-linux.org/users-2007/playonlinux/

Thanks,

istihza

Hi istihza,

First, thank YOU for building a Pardus package of POL

To contact us, either send an e-mail to Tinou (tinou <at> playonlinux <dot> com) or to any administrator you want (You can find some e-mail address HERE).

Then, could you describe here the method to install POL on Pardus (and if necessary which repository to add) please?
With this, we could add the Pardus package to the download page, among the other distributions.

Hello,

It is really nice to see that our pisi package is welcome by PlayonLinux team, and thank you very much for providing the contact addresses.

In order for a Pardus user to install POL on Pardus s/he should first of all add Pardus-Linux.Org repository to his/her system. To add the repository, we use this single command:

sudo pisi ar forumdeposu http://paketler.pardus-linux.org/users-2007/pisi-index.xml.bz2

After that we use this command to install POL on Pardus:

sudo pisi it playonlinux

That is all. After the above command, Playonlinux will be installed on Pardus together with all of its dependencies.

If you host the pisi package and if the users wish to use the pisi package on your site, they can just download the pisi package from your site, and double-click on the downloaded package to install it. However, in any case they should first add the Pardus-Linux.Org repository as described above, because Playonlinux has one dependency that is in our repository (xterm). Otherwise, Pardus will complain about unmet dependencies...

For users having issues with the repository or the package, my e-mail address is paketler [at] pardus-linux [dot] org (or kistihza [at] yahoo [dot] com)

Many thanks for your interest,

istihza

Good days.

I am a packager of PlayOnLinux for Pardus 2008 and 2009. It's ready to work for all of them. I believe that Pardus section have to be updated. Next week, the new version of Pardus (Pardus 2009) will be released and Contrib-2009 repository is already used for RC2 version since Alpha version.

Contrib 2009 repository adress is
http://packages.pardus.org.tr/contrib-2009/pisi-index.xml.bz2

Can you update Pardus section at 17th July when Pardus 2009 stable version is released?
