Hi all,

I found PLAYONLINUX because I installed a Wine update and it broke Fallout: New Vegas. The Wine version management got me hooked!

So I purchased the Steam version of FONV a while ago. I first installed Steam in POL then used Steam to install FONV.

I now need to load some mods so that my save games are compatible with my new POL virtual drive. I am curious about how I go about installing other programs into the same virtual drive where I installed Steam. I've tried a number of things but can't seem to figure it out.

TIA for any help! (Including - here's the section in the manual, go read it dummy!)

Dude, Fallout:  New Vegas rocks in PlayOnLinux/Wine.  I'm currently playing through the entire game (vanilla).  I have 50+ hours and still playing.

If the mod has an executable use PlayOnLinux Configure:

  1. Launch PlayOnLinux
  2. Click Configure
  3. Select game shortcut left side
  4. Click Miscellaneous tab
  5. Click "Run an .exe file in this virtual drive"

If the mod doesn't install correctly, then it can get complicated.  I've installed many mods for Unreal Tournament, Morrowind, Quake and various other games.  I recently installed a Skyrim High Resolution texture mod through Steam and it worked perfectly.

If the mod just requires extracting files in a game folder, then extract them to your desktop and then copy/paste them to the proper folder.
