Hi brothers,

just 1 simple question is it possible to use anything related to "GOG Men of war assault squad" to make my version work?

I just bought the steam version (75% off). but after the game starts I get a error msg,

What are you guys installing in your playonlinux's virtual drive? (maybe I'm missing something like fonts or dotnet libraries)

Hi,

You can check the install script source:

https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-2659-GOGcom__Men_of_War_Assault_Squad.html

and then click on "Source code"

It doesn't seem to do much, mainly install d3dx9_36...

I read a bit on WineHQ's

The reports are "Garbage" with the Steam version, but other versions report "Platinum"
A few things I do if a game doesn't launch is install these packages:

  • corefonts
  • d3dx9
  • tahoma

One way to find out what Men of War need is go to the SteamApps/Common folder and look around for _Install or Support or Redist directories.  In there you will find stuff like DotNet, Visual C or DirectX installers.

What video card are you running?
Can you play any other games?

Make sure to disable the Steam Overlay.  That causes many games to crash.  Or download a newer version of Wine like 1.8 and switch Men of War to it in Configure
