Linux Mint 17.2 MATE

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz

16 GB RAM

NVDIA GF106M [GeForce GT 550M]

I installed Skyrim from a DVD and when I quit from the game menu the screen freezes and then locks up.  I do not get an error but have to restart my laptop when it occurs.  Otherwise everything seems to work fine. 

Any suggestions would be welcome.
