How do you apply a patch after installing a game?  I successfully(finally) got Advanced Tactics Gold from Matrixgames running on POL today.  But I cant figure out how to patch it.  When I try to run the update, the game installer says I dont have the game installed(I assume its checking the registry).

From where are you launching the patcher? If you haven't already, try running it from the download directory in the virtual drive, which is located in ./PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/yourvirtualdrivename/drive_c/users/you/Downloads

Either

- Install button > Install non-listed application > Update or modify existing application

or

- Configure button > (select virtual drive) > Miscellaneous tab > "Run an .exe in this virtual drive" button

Petch, both of your options "work" but the patch installer is saying "You dont have Advanced Tactics Gold installed".  So theyre not working in this case for me.  Im thinking it has something to do with the patch installer being able to query the registry in my POL instance.

Both those methods run programs in the context of the virtual drive selected.

If you installed the game in the very same virtual drive, there's nothing more that can be done.

OK I tried just creating a new instance, installed the game, and was able to successfully patch it with you suggestion:
"Configure button > (select virtual drive) > Miscellaneous tab > "Run an .exe in this virtual drive" button"
I copied the patch .exe to the game folder, I dont know if it made a difference.

Thanks for your help.
