Once you get to the License agreement and click Next, it will crash
I Alt+Tab back to PlayOnLinux, click Configure, click the Wine tab and click Kill Processes
This will then continue to the PlayOnLinux shortcut
Does this happen to you?

I'll just take the risk and buy ME3. I'll let you know if it works laugh

That is up to you... there is a chance it won't work either.  But I will definitely post a step-by-step in a week or so

Turns out if you rename the igoproxy.exe as well the error will disappear completely.
I renamed the igoproxy64.exe back, but I still think it has to be renamed to avoid crashing upon launch

Yes, that disabled the error for me, although the demo still won't start. I haven't bought ME3 yet, so I can't tell if it will work with the full version.

I was looking through your original posts and can't find what hardware you have
What video card are you using?

Perfect, so you should obviously be able to handle almost all games in Linux.
Its your own risk to buy Mass Effect 3 because there is a chance it won't work.
Wine never guarantees anything, but I'll try the demo in the morning on my gaming computer...

You could always wait for a sale so you are down too much $$

Did you have any successes with the demo?

Sorry, I was busy testing the full game because I'm posting a guide in the morning.  I didn't forget, but I need to download the demo again.
Mass Effect 3 is totally amazing!  They went overboard with detail!  Awesome game so far!

I'm going to try to make a short game-play video this weekend as well.

Remember there is a chance it still won't work for you because you are on Mac
I'm using Linux Mint 17.2 and the full game runs great.  It halts (not crash) when Origin crashes, but that is because Origin is a pain!

I'm running Kubuntu on a normal PC, and I posted this on the PlayOnLinux forum. Although your profile icon also tells me you are on a mac!

I installed it using your instructions, though the ME3 Demo still crashes after the connection error. When you are finished installing the demo, could you please tell me if it worked for you? I have a feeling it is the demo's fault.

I do too
