OK. A few issues can cause this error.
Well we have a few options at our disposal here. Perhaps the bottle is hosed, perhaps not. Perhaps we are missing some system packages, perhaps not. The best bet is to try fixing missing system packages, then if things are still quirky we know its purely the bottle. Over at Codeweavers there are pages with the software packages it needs and are a good idea to have (like not needed, but may fix oddball issues with specific programs). Lets try that out. As I am a moron when it comes to debian packaging and Ubuntu as a whole, I will simply link to the page and let you make sense of it. I am aware that RPM and DEB have there differences in how things are done, but thats it.
So, here is the link: https://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/linux/faq/Ubuntu. What I am not sure what is meant by the first part of "adding i386 architecture" as on Red Hat, Fedora, and SuSE that is not needed as the x86_64 repos have i686 stuff there. But after that is the 14.04 section. Definitely run that command and ensure that all the packages are found and installed.
Next, just to make sure that we are kosher on the driver department, ensure that you have your NVIDIA or AMD graphics drivers installed.
If worse comes to worse, I did get off my ass and look into how to make game scripts and made a BNET one for shits and giggles. Head over to the application test forum and take a look there. I did test it prior to sharing (alot of testing to wiggle out rough edges), it works perfect. I know know something new :D
