Apparently my mac cannot see the PC info on the install disc according to POM. Any suggestions?

Version of PlayOnMac? Full computer specs? The more information you post, the better. :)

POM 4.2.8

Mac mini Yosemite 10.10.4

2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB

point taken

My Battle.net account indicates the game was registered the day it was bought. I downloaded it several days later. During installation I was prompted for the game key. The key provided in my account after purchase was invalid when I typed it in.

Diablo 2 seems to have a Mac version, why use PlayOnMac anyway?

"Warcraft III, Diablo II, and StarCraft will not install on Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and above due to changes in the Mac operating system. Attempting to install these games on OS X Lion and above will result in Power PC applications no longer supported error message."

So I am desperately trying to find a way to play D2 on my Yosemite Mac. POM seems like a good idea...

How did you try to install it? Did you use the installer in the Install menu of POM? One thing that you can try, if needed, is to copy the discs to a folder, and when the installer asks, point it to the folder instead of the discs.

You may want to check this out, too. Looks like it may need a patch to remove bypass the disc check, which is unsupported. You may find some info here, though:

I have the original discs, but couldn't get them to work, so bought a digital copy from Battle.net and got POM.

I purchased Diablo 2 on 5/22. At the time of purchase, I was given a game key, and it said “registered 5/22”.

I downloaded the game several days later, and now the installer is asking for a game key. But since my key was used on 5/22 to register my game, it ends up being invalid when I use it to install the game on my computer. At least that’s what I think is happening. Anyhow, I cannot install D2.
