Do you have the 32-bit Intel graphics libs installed for your system? Again, without seeing debug stuff, it's hard to tell. Check the wiki for graphics card info and if make sure that the graphics libs are installed correctly. You aren't going to get very good performance, though. It is still shouldn't crash whilst patching.

The patcher uses CPU like crazy at times, and on the computers I tried it takes several hours to get thru

On a less powerful CPU it may very well take even more, and if it tends to overheat, I'm no surprized it crashes.

Ah, OK. I didn't know that the launcher was so heavy on resources. That makes sense, then.

it's not like i would not buy a better pc if i had the money...
but the problem is that it worked quite well and now it doesnt at all

That right there makes me think it is drivers or a hardware issue. I can see that you are running a 32-bit OS; why not 64-bit? You should be since your CPU is 64-bit capable (from what I see). That may be part of your problem; you would only be addressing a single core, instead of both, cutting your computing power in half.

My recommendation, before anything, would be to install the 64-bit version of Ubuntu 14.04 on there and go from there. Anytime you have a dual core or more, you should be running 64-bit OS (there are little to no reasons not to in this day and age if you can.).

Ronin babe you are giving this person falls hope, Intel video cards just don't work with wine, based on my experience. I really wanted to link that lol forum thread but I can't find it, that thread clearly states that you can not run lol games on intel graphics cards, I think the problem is that intel does not fully support the opengl library files that wine team is using. and based on internet knowlage, it is safe to say that if you are running intel graphics you can mostly run DX8 software under wine.

That is not true (the "not working" part. lol. Everyone has a different computing experience. :) ; a bunch of the screenshots from the scripts I have posted come from my laptop with HD4000 grapics.

Now, yes, certain applications (as you stated, LoL, and in my experience Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5+), do not run well, if at all, on Intel graphics chipsets. That is true, but to say that Intel cards do not work with Wine is not true. lol. I play STO on my laptop all of the time (I actually just reformatted to Arch on my Dell E6500 and am about to get my DE set up, and then get my STO on via POL/Wine on.), as well as multiple games through Steam via Wine/POL.

You are right, though; Intel cards simply do not cut-the-mustard, so to speak, for certain types of games and hardware combos.

Now that you mention it, I wonder if we should add a warning to the LoL script saying that Intel graphics can be grumpy. That might at least warn users of the potential problems. Thanks for bringing that up, @Levan. :D

I added a message before the virtual drive is created, giving the user the change to opt-out for whatever reason before all of the downloads and whatnot start happening. The code should still work; just show a message stating that Intel cards may cause bad vibes. ha.

Here's my log file:

It's not like anything changed, if something was installed it was installed, I couldn't install the drivers from your place, for reasons provided in previous post.

As to your "Intel doesn't support LoL". I couldn've pulled up 45FPS at patch 5.5 in-game, while 60FPS on Windows. So yea, my graphics card should support it. Now it's patch 5.9. And it's not even in-game, but downloading and patching, I don't think a lot changed.

Well, something changed, because it worked before and does not work now... I am troubleshooting; probing, proding, looking for what may be causing this.

We don't provide drivers, so when you say "installing drivers from your place", that doesn't make sense, because that is not our department. haha. You need to make sure that your drivers are installed properly, but you don't get the drivers from us, and you should refer to your distros docs to make sure that they are installed correctly.

Also, please don't send us logs that we need to download. I won't download any files like this. Please use pastebin or something else so that we can see the log without having to download any files.

(EDIT: THis was meant for another user in this thread. This is exactly why threadjacking sucks. lol.).And you never addressed my previous post about your running a 32-bit OS when you are capable (and therefore should be) of running a 64-bit OS:

So i reinstalled my pc but the problem has still not changed but i looked into the log and 99.9999% of it is this line:
"fixme:ntdll:NtIsProcessInJob stub: 0x2d0 (nil)" so i guess i need to get rid of this and then see if anything else is problematic.
Any suggestions what to do with it?

Don't worry about that error. 99% of the time you can ignore anything that starts with fixme.

You reinstalled to what? What version? Distro? 32-bit or 64-bit? 32-bit graphics drivers installed properly? If it worked before, it should work now if your system is set up properly. If it doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.  lol.

How do you know? Which drivers? Where did you get them from? Multiarch support with i386 libs? Full debug output again too, please.

A more concise answer is yes; you do need "other drivers", but really just the other architecture. Like, on Ubuntu-based distros:

sudo apt-get install multiarch-support

Should pull in what you need if you already have the mesa libs installed (which for Intel cards, on the *buntus, they do by defualt).

You already said that. lol.

The wiki covers this topic, though, so once you go through there, if it is still not working, I am at a loss.

I found a solution!
its an alternative patcher and it works great and fast.
http://lolpatcher.xupwup.nl/

the patcher has play button but you log in the usual log/in window so dont be scared it|s not a scam

1) get java
2) download patcher and put it into your lol folder
3) extract the .jar files
4) make run.sh file in the folder containing:

#!/bin/sh

java -jar SelfPatchFinalizer.jar LoLPatcher.jar

5) execute run.sh from terminal (./path/run.sh)

6) have fun
