Hello, I check 956254125 posts, links, pages on the internet for fixing the launcher issue of The Sims 3. Here I'm posting the debug info for the launcher, hope someone can help I've got dotnet20 installed - To install, I've created .wine32. In the Frameworks directory I can see 5 versions of .NET: 1.0.3750, 1.1.4322, 2.0.50727, 3.0, 4.0.30319 (o.O) 2. I've got vcrun2010 - 2012, version info: 3. Similar to the other reported errors for The Sims 3, the TS3.exe works correctly. When I try to run the Launcher in POL it gives this error: "Sims3Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." then Wine gives an error showing the details, which are the same as the debug info from POL:
wine: Unhandled exception 0xe0434f4d in thread 9 at address 0x7b83da72 (thread 0009), starting debugger... Unhandled exception 0xe0434f4d in thread 9 at address 0x7b83da72 makes me think that there is a dll missing or something...
Also, when I check the debug info after trying to run the Launcher this shows up:
[03/20/15 00:59:58] - Running wine-1.7.38 Sims3Launcher.exe (Working directory : /home/user/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/TheSims3/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Game/Bin) Unhandled Exception: System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for '?' threw an exception. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Windows.Forms, VFile name: 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'

Installing things willy-nilly actually usually does more harm than good. I would delete the virtual drive, try to use 1.7.38-staging instead. Also, we do not support winetricks being use in POL. There is very little that winetricks does that POL's Install Components tab doesn't do, plus those functions are specifically written for POL. Use those whenever you can, as we will not support winetricks. If you are just running Winetricks and installing stuff to a virtual drive like, ~/.wine32 or something like that, it will never work. Don't use winetricks at all with POL for now, so that we can figure out what is going on. .NET will install multiple versions. .NET 3 will need previous versions of .NET, too. It is ok if you see multiple versions. Nevertheless, they may or may not have ben needed, depending on what you installed in there for whatever reason (again, installing random dependencies without knowing if they are needed will likely cause more harm than good when trying to troubleshoot, and will break the virtual drives, likely resulting in the need to delete/recreate the virtual drive.). You should also upgrade PlayOnLinux to 4.2.6 (check the Download section). That version is really old. First thing, I would make sure that you have your graphics drivers and 32-bit graphics libs installed for your Nvidia card, and you probably need to use Bumblebee because your laptop's setup. Then, once you know you have that set up correctly, then delete the virtual drive for The Sims and reinstall it, trying to use 1.7.38-staging.
